If your child has symptoms of COVID-19 and they have a high temperature or feel unwell, they should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school when they feel better or no longer have a high temperature.
If your child has mild symptoms, such as a runny nose, sore throat or mild cough, and they feel well enough, they can go to school.
From 1st April 2022, anyone with a positive COVID-19 test result will be advised to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days after they took the test. For children, the advice is 3 days. If your child feels well enough to return to school after 3 days and they no longer have a high temperature, they can do so.
