Our governing body is constituted of 12 members and operates under the leadership of a chair and vice-chair with the help of a professional clerk. The full governing body operates a 'circle model' of governance. This means that the full Governing board meets at least 6 times a year and all school business, such as finance, premises, school improvement, safeguarding, attendance and much more is discussed in these meetings. This means that all governors are well informed on all aspects of the school's work and are able to build their knowledge of how the school is run and support and challenge the school to continue to improve. There are also two Extraordinary Panels - one for the Headteacher Performance Management and the other is the Pay Committee which determines pay awards for all other staff.
Members of our governing body come from a range of backgrounds: parents, staff, the local authority and the wider community. We aim to fill our vacancies with people who have a broad range of relevant skills and most importantly are committed to acting in the best interests of the children and their learning.
