At Templefield School it is our aim to promote a school ethos which is underpinned by core values. These values support the development of the whole child as a reflective learner within a calm, caring, happy and purposeful atmosphere. Every month through whole school assemblies and in class we explore a new value. We talk about the value, what it means and how this can be demonstrated by the children and in the lives of others. We explore; respect, tolerance, kindness, perseverance, courage, honesty, patience, co-operation, thoughtfulness and friendship. Learning about the values equips our children with positive ‘ethical vocabulary’ and enables them to develop better self-awareness. It also helps to encourages positive behaviour, where children treat others with kindness and respect and are considerate of the view points and needs of others. Following the values also enables the pupils to become more resilient and reflective as learners which supports academic attainment and progress. Golden tickets and a monthly values certificate are used to celebrate children who have followed and demonstrated our values.
