Our Governors

Our governing body is constituted of 12 members and operates under the leadership of a Chair and Vice-Chair with the support of a professional Clerk. Members of our governing body come from a range of backgrounds: parents, staff, the Local Authority and the wider community. We aim to fill our vacancies with people who have a broad range of relevant skills and most importantly are committed to acting in the best interests of the children and their learning.

The governing body operates a 'circle model' of governance. This means that the full governing body meets at least 6 times a year and all school business, such as finance, premises, school improvement, safeguarding, attendance and much more is discussed in these meetings. This means that all governors are well informed on all aspects of the school's work and are able to build their knowledge of how the school is run, and support and challenge the school to continue to improve.

There are also two extraordinary panels - one for the Headteacher's performance management and the other is the Pay Committee which determines pay awards for staff.

Governors Diversity Statement

The governors believe it is important that the board reflects the diversity of the community we serve.

The governors are currently collecting data on the diversity of the board and will use that data to inform their recruitment. Due to our relatively small governing body, we will not publish diversity data online as individual governors could be identified.
