At Templefield Lower School, we have embarked on a very exciting journey with Smart School Councils. Under this initiative, all children across the school will be given the opportunity to put forward their ideas and suggest ways in which we could improve our school.
One tool that will enable us to collate all of our ideas together is called Class Meetings. The whole school will regularly answer an online question, where children can discuss their opinions in groups and upload their answers to a central portal. Their ideas can then be evaluated and we can make their dreams come true!
Class meeting #1
"What is the best way to spread happiness in our school?"
The children decided that smiling at someone and asking someone to play with them were the best ways to spread happiness at Templefield. The best answer to "how could we improve our school?" was to eat lunch outside on sunny days! (well done to Sophie in Owls, great idea!)
Class meeting #2
"Tuesday 5th October is 'World Teacher Day' How can we show gratitude to our teachers?"
The children thought that making a card or drawing a picture would be the best way to show gratitude to their teachers. They were given certificates to decorate and give to their teacher to show gratitude.
Class meeting #3
"Do you think we should go trick or treating at Halloween?"
