BBC Bitesize Daily Lessons
You may have heard that the BBC have created daily lessons that are available on their Bitesize website - link below.
For Year 2, there are 3 daily lessons that include Maths and English each day, along with another subject for example Science , Geography or History.
The lessons are fun and interactive. Please take a look. Use this free resource in addition to or instead of the daily activities that we have planned for the children on the weekly themed timetable.
All children have been set Ebooks to read via the Active Learn website.
The children have each been set with at least 20 books to access that are specific to the individual reading levels that the children are currently on.
Usernames and passwords are stuck to the inside front cover of the reading records. If your child does not have their details please email either Mrs Coward or Mrs Miller and we will be happy to email them to you.
Please note that the school code to access the site is tljs
Mrs Coward - firstname.lastname@example.org
Mrs Miller - email@example.com
Daily writing activities are detailed on the themed timetable document at the top of this page.
We have supplied each child with a small exercise book in which we would like them to keep a diary of their time outside of school. We have stuck in the Year 2 writing objectives that have been covered in class (the children will be familiar with these) and we would like the children to use these features in their diary writing as much as possible.
We have sent home paper copies of the Year 2 common exception words. Please practice reading and spelling of these words. The No Nonsense Spelling strategies can be found under 'Home learning' on the Year 2 web page to assist with the learning of the spellings.
Daily maths activities are detailed on the themed timetable document at the top of this page.
Time – please encourage the children to tell the time as much as possible! We have begun to cover time and the children need to be able to tell the time to the hour, half hour, quarter past / to and for the more able to the nearest 5 minutes.
