Peace Afternoon
In November we held a Peace afternoon where we could reflect upon the meaning of peace and remember the importance of Armistice Day.
Each year group carried out a different activity and a whole school display was then created to represent our work on peace.
In Foundation the children made a poppy wreath.
Year 1 looked at symbols of peace and made a large rainbow and doves.
Year 2 discussed the meaning of peace and then created a Peace tree in their classrooms to show what it means to them.
The children in Year 3 researched facts about World War 1 and Armistice Day and then wrote information texts to show what they had found out.
Year 4 thought about the deeper meaning of peace and how it can be shown at home and around the world. They then made peace windmills.
