Children with additional or special educational needs may need extra help and support from us and here at Templefield we have a dedicated team of support assistants and other adults who, alongside class teachers, will provide support for those children who have additional educational needs.
Children who have additional needs have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) that is highly personalised to the individual child and is regularly reviewed with the class teacher, parent and child, thereby ensuring a collaborative approach to the provision.
If a child has significate learning needs they may have a SEND support Plan, which is a detailed multi-agency plan, which usually involves the SENCo. These plans could involve us liaising with a range of agencies such as the speech & language therapy service, occupational therapy and the community paediatric team.
