In November we celebrated Diwali.
As a school we carried out different activities within each year group and learnt about ways in which the festival is celebrated.
We also created a whole school Rangoli pattern, with each year group contributing to a section of the design. This was then placed on display for all to see.
Even with their bubble closed Foundation were able to complete lots of activities from home. They sorted divas and rangoli patterns from the largest to the smallest and enjoyed some traditional baking.
Year 1 made divas by decorating old cd's with lots of glitter and sequins. They also made their own mendi handprints and rangoli patterns from numicon.
Year 2 made lanterns and sequenced the story of Rama and Sita.
Year 3 made rangoli patterns, they thought carefully about the colours that were used.
Year 4 created symmetrical rangoli patterns, again thinking carefully about the design and colours.
