Coronavirus Information

We take the health and safety of our staff and pupils very seriously which is why we are sharing the latest guidance from the Department for Education and Public Health England regarding the Coronavirus.

Understandably, concern about the Coronavirus is high but there is currently no reason why your child should not continue to attend school. There are some basic good hygiene principles that everyone can follow to help prevent the spread of viruses, including:

  • Washing your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or using an alcohol-based sanitiser if soap and water aren't available.
  • Avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoiding close contact with people who are sick.
  • If you feel unwell, staying at home.
  • Covering your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, then throwing the tissue in a bin.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces.

If you are planning to travel over the Easter holidays, please ensure that you refer to the latest advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Anyone returning from a Category 1 specified country / area will need to self-isolate for 14 days after their return. People returning from a Category 2 specified country / area are advised to stay at home if they develop symptoms. If your child has had contact with a confirmed case they will not be able to attend school for 14 days from the last time they had contact with the person.

We will provide further information as it becomes available from the Department for Education and Public Health England.
